Refund policy

Effective Date: August 29, 2026

I offer a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your order to request a return.

This policy applies to orders placed on or after August 29, 2026. Orders placed before that date remain subject to the return policy that was in effect when the order was placed.

Returns

To be eligible for a return, the item must be in substantially the same condition in which you received it and must not have been damaged, modified, or altered beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it.

Free U.S. Returns

Eligible U.S. orders include free return shipping within the 30-day return period.

If your return is approved, I will provide a prepaid return shipping label.

There is no restocking fee.

International Returns

International returns are also accepted within 30 days of delivery.

If the return is not the result of a defect, damage, incorrect item, or other error on my part, the customer is responsible for return shipping. I do not provide prepaid international return labels for standard returns.

This includes returns because you changed your mind, ordered the wrong product, selected an incompatible product, or misunderstood information that was accurately provided in the product listing.

Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If your item is defective, arrives damaged, I sent the wrong item, or the product is materially different from what was ordered or described, please contact me as soon as reasonably possible.

If the issue is my responsibility, I will cover reasonable return and/or replacement shipping costs, including for international customers, and work with you on an appropriate replacement, refund, or other resolution.

3D-Printed Products

Many Josh's Widgets products are professionally 3D printed.

Layer lines, surface texture, minor cosmetic variation, and differences in finish between printed surfaces are normal characteristics of the manufacturing process when accurately disclosed or shown in the product listing and are not considered defects.

You may still return an eligible item if you are unhappy with it. U.S. returns remain free, while international customers are responsible for return shipping when the item is otherwise correct and as described.

Replacements and Exchanges

If a replacement is needed because of a defect or mistake on my part, I will cover reasonable replacement shipping costs.

If the original item is correct and as described but I agree to provide a replacement as a courtesy, the customer may be responsible for the shipping cost of the replacement.

For international customers, I may offer the option of paying the shipping cost for a replacement instead of returning the original item.

Original Shipping Charges

For standard returns that are not the result of an error on my part, separately charged original shipping costs are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

If an order received free shipping, I do not deduct the original outbound shipping cost from the merchandise refund.

Customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage charges, and other fees collected by governments, carriers, or other third parties generally cannot be refunded by Josh's Widgets.

European Union Customers

The 30-day return period offered by Josh's Widgets is longer than the European Union's standard 14-day withdrawal period.

If your purchase is subject to EU consumer-protection laws, you may exercise any statutory right of withdrawal available to you without providing a reason. Those legal rights apply in addition to this policy and take precedence where required by law.

For a standard EU change-of-mind return, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the item where permitted by law.

When EU law requires the original standard delivery charge to be refunded as part of a valid withdrawal, that charge will also be refunded. Additional delivery costs resulting from choosing a shipping method more expensive than the least expensive standard delivery option are not refundable unless required by law.

Nothing in this policy limits any consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

Refunds

I will notify you after I receive and inspect your return.

Approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to process and post the refund.

Policy Changes

I may update this policy from time to time. Changes will apply to future orders and will not retroactively reduce the return rights that applied when an order was placed.
