Designing the parts I couldn't find
Hi, I'm Josh, a motorcycle rider, BMW enthusiast, and hands-on tinkerer based in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Josh's Widgets started with a problem familiar to anyone who works on their own gear: the part I needed did not exist, or the available options were not something I wanted to use on my own bike, car, or equipment.
So I measured, modeled, printed, tested, revised, and made it myself.
One useful fix led to another: a cleaner way to mount a Cardo communicator, a better answer for a broken BMW Z3 part, and simple hardware that solved an annoying everyday problem. What began as a few fixes for my own projects grew into a shop serving people who care about getting the details right.
Fit is the product
A small part only earns its place if it fits correctly, installs simply, and holds up in the real world.
Every Josh's Widgets design begins with the equipment it is meant to improve, not with a generic shape or a close enough fit. I prototype and test each design, refine it through real use and customer feedback, and choose materials suited to the job.
For helmet adapters, that means using the helmet's existing mounting point whenever possible. The result is a clean, secure installation without relying on adhesive on a curved shell. For BMW parts and everyday fixes, the goal is the same: make the repair straightforward and make the finished result feel like it belongs there.
A small shop on purpose
Josh's Widgets has been serving customers since 2021. I'm involved throughout the process, from the first sketch and prototype to printing, inspection, packing, and answering fitment questions.
